About Robert
Robert Magnström is the guide behind Arctic Stalking. Raised in Pajala and Luleå in the far north of Sweden, he grew up surrounded by dense forests, vast wetlands, and the traditions of Tornedalian culture. In this part of the world, hunting and fishing have never been mere hobbies, but a way of life passed down through generations. Historically essential for providing food for the family, these traditions continue to shape Robert’s deep respect for nature and wildlife today.
Beyond his wilderness experience, Robert has an academic background in Occupational Therapy from Umeå Universityand Behavioral Science from Luleå University of Technology. This combination gives him a unique understanding of the physical and mental focus required for demanding Arctic expeditions.
For the past 17 years, Robert has specialized in Toppjakt — the traditional Scandinavian pursuit of Capercaillie and Black Grouse in the treetops during winter. This highly demanding form of hunting requires extensive knowledge of the sub-arctic environment, including winter survival, ballistics, specialized equipment, and physical endurance.
Arctic Stalking operates deep within the wilderness of Norrbotten and Västerbotten, far from roads and civilization. Here, the silence is absolute, and the Arctic landscape is as challenging as it is breathtaking.
